Faith Danielle Hedgepeth, 19, was found dead on the morning of 7 Sep 2012 at the Hawthorne at the View apartments. Chapel Hill police said in 2014 that she died of blunt-force trauma to the head. Miguel Enrique Salguero-Olivares was arrested on 16 Sep 2021 and later charged with first-degree murder, first-degree burglary, first-degree rape, and first-degree sexual offense. He pleaded not guilty. Jury selection began 28 Sep 2026 in Durham County Superior Court. There is no verdict.
