Elizabeth "Lizzi" Marriott was a 19-year-old from Westborough, Massachusetts, who loved the ocean and marine life. She had volunteered at the New England Aquarium, and in autumn 2012 she began studying marine biology at the University of New Hampshire, living with family in Chester and working part-time at Target. On 9 October 2012 she went to visit a co-worker, Kathryn McDonough, at the Dover apartment McDonough shared with Seth Mazzaglia, and did not come home. Mazzaglia was arrested on 13 October 2012. McDonough pleaded guilty in July 2013 to hindering the investigation and testified at his trial. On 27 June 2014 a jury in Dover found Mazzaglia guilty of first-degree murder, and he was sentenced to life without parole. Searchers never found Lizzi's body. In 2016 the New Hampshire Supreme Court kept her private records sealed after her family objected, and upheld the conviction.
