In January 1993, Bonnie Haim, 23, vanished from the North Jacksonville home she shared with her husband, Michael Ray Haim, and their toddler. Her purse and car were found near Jacksonville International Airport; their young son told interviewers his father had hurt his mother. Without a body, prosecutors did not charge Michael. In December 2014 her remains were found under a concrete slab at the childhood house by their son, Aaron Fraser; DNA identified Bonnie. Michael was arrested in 2015, convicted of second-degree murder in April 2019, and sentenced to life in May 2019. Florida’s First District Court of Appeal upheld the conviction in 2021.
