Community guidelines
Last updated 18 September 2026
Matter of Record reviews exist to help people decide what to listen to, watch or read. They are about the coverage — the reporting, the storytelling, the production — and nothing else.
Discuss the media only.
Review the episode, series, film or book: how it's reported, how it's told, whether it's worth your time.
No claims about guilt, suspects or victims.
Matter of Record publishes no original claims about crimes or people, and neither do reviews.
No personal information.
Never post names, addresses, workplaces, phone numbers or anything else identifying a private individual.
No links.
Reviews containing links are rejected automatically to keep reviews free of spam.
Be brief and civil.
Reviews are capped at 500 characters. Harassment and abuse are removed.
Reporting a review
Anyone can report a review. Reviews that break these guidelines can be hidden or removed. If something needs urgent attention, email contact@matterofrecord.app.
