Trials moved to another county for publicity

Cases where the court moved the trial to another county — for example when local publicity could make a fair jury hard to find.

Laci Peterson

27 and eight months pregnant with her son, Conner, when she went missing from her Modesto, California, home on 24 December 2002. Because of publicity, the murder trial was moved from Modesto in Stanislaus County to Redwood City in San Mateo County.
